    Join us virtually as we dive into the evolution of music therapy!

    The presentation will break down music in the field of oncology and several musical interventions you can tailor and use to help your patients. In addition, learn to consider our own relationship with music and the ways those relationships can be advanced to support your role as caregivers.

    Through story and fact, the value of music and music therapy in oncology will be presented. Client stories on the use of music for resilience, anxiety management, and pain management will be presented through live and recorded examples to stimulate interest and advance knowledge of the myriad of ways that music can enhance well-being through cancer treatment, palliative care, and hospice care.


    1. Explain the biological rationale for music in oncology

    2. Distinguish music therapy from music-based interventions in oncological settings

    3. Identify patient profiles that would benefit from music therapy interventions, namely pain and anxiety

    4. Consider their own relationship to music and the ways those relationships can be advanced to support their roles as caregivers
